AllHealth Network’s Mobile Response Unit (MRU) is redefining how behavioral health crises are addressed in Englewood and Littleton. This team, consisting of a Crisis Case Manager and a Registered Nurse, works alongside local police to respond to calls involving behavioral health, substance use, or homelessness, providing trauma-informed, client-centered care. Designed to divert low-risk 911 calls from a traditional law enforcement response, the MRU ensures individuals receive the right support at the right time.
Equipped with a specially outfitted van containing medical supplies, basic necessities, and wheelchair accessibility, the MRU delivers compassionate care for welfare checks, non-emergent suicidal ideation, and other low-level crises. The team also connects individuals to culturally appropriate community resources and long-term support to best meet each individual’s needs.
As the MRU continues transforming lives, opportunities for growth are clear. With more resources, the program aims to:
- Add staff and another van to expand response capabilities.
- Extend hours for broader community coverage.
- Reach neighboring cities like Sheridan, Glendale, and Greenwood Village.
- Distribute even more critical supplies like medical equipment, hygiene kits, food, warm clothing, and blankets.
Each day, the MRU is a lifeline for individuals in crisis. Expanding this program will deepen its impact and touch even more lives. Together, we can imagine a future where everyone in our community has access to the care they need when they need it most.
