I want to celebrate a special client near and dear to my heart. In 2021 this individual was in a dark and hopeless place when he began services with AllHealth Network.
He is an Army veteran who served two tours in Iraq during which he sustained a major injury. Following his military discharge, he began using substances, found himself in legal trouble, and started exhibiting self-destructive behavior.
By the time he was referred to AllHealth Network through the Veteran’s Treatment Court, he had 15 different legal charges in five different counties, his mental health was severely depleted, and he was nearly suicidal.
Throughout his recovery over the past three years, I have watched this client transform his life. Despite struggles and challenges, he persevered and overcame numerous obstacles. Today, he is more than two years sober, has gained full custody of his 3-year-old son, has a successful career as a tattoo artist, and is engaged to his amazingly supportive fiancée.
While this client has clearly worked hard to achieve recovery, he credits his fiancée for being a driving factor of positive change. “[I’m] proud of everything my fiancée has overcome to better our lives,” he said.
In 2023, he was the recipient of AllHealth’s “Client Recovery Award”, and a recently graduated from Veterans Treatment Court after a three grueling years.
He is a true testament to recovery and proof that things can always get better.
